Rare print at Sutton Coldfield Auction boosts charity funds - local news
Sutton Coldfiled charity auction organisers received a pleasant surprise when a rare print sold for much more than expected.

The Birmingham Settlement shop raised over £400 for the war memorabilia print The Dual of Eagles

Interest in the print, which was signed by famed RAF fighter pilot Sir Douglas Bader and German counterpart Adolf Galland, proved considerable with the final total reaching £410 at the Sutton Coldfield auction through an anonymous bidder.

Area manager Caroline Sullivan said: We were aiming to get £350 for the print, so were really pleased with the outcome of the auction. The money will go across the board to help all areas of Birmingham Settlement.

Its great that somebody kindly donated the piece to us in the first place and that our shop manager had the eye to realise it was special.

Birmingham Settlements objective is to relieve poverty and hardship by helping individuals and communities to overcome social exclusion, particularly in the inner city.
